I am posting this on behalf of my father. He is currently in the market for a new sports car. He already has a 2008 corvette 1lt with the LS3. He is now looking at the new 427 vert 60th anniversary that has come out. I am trying to convince him that for the amount of money it costs it is not worth it because of how close in power it is to the current one he has now.

Now I realize that it is better than his current model, I am not naive to that, but i feel that the 2013 gt500 is a much better car for about 10k less after being almost fully equipped. I feel that the extra 157 hp and 160 lbft of tq over the 427 will put a huge grin on his face.

The big problem that I am running in to is that these cars are on a order only basis so there is nothing on a lot for him to even look at. He would rather see something in person than look at it online.

So I would like to know if there is anyone in the Phoenix area that has one of these and would be willing to meet up some where and let my father take a look at it, maybe even take him for a ride if you are ok with it. Really just allowing him to look at it would prob be enough to convince him to order one.

I know this is an odd request but again I dont know anyone with one personally and no dealership that i know of has one in stock so I hope that someone will help me make this happen for him.

10k less, thats if you can find one without the hideous dealer markup?

ive already talked to a local dealer and they said that they do not add dealer markup but the problem is about a 5 month waiting list.

I'd be careful. Switching from a Corvette to a Mustang is an ENORMOUS change. I own the 2013 GT500 and I love it, but it's absolutely nothing like a Corvette.

I'd choose the 427 over the GT500 if:
1. I didn't care about looking like I'm rich and flaunting it.
-- even though the 2013 Shelby is pricy, I don't consider it showy like a Vette.
2. I didn't mind a super wide *** thats hard to park.
-- only a few inches but pretty noticeable.
3. I didn't care about trunk space or rear seats.

I'm not being sarcastic here. I think as a pure drivers car and sports car point of view, the vette is the better car for the money. However in terms of livability and flashiness I prefer the nearly as fun Shelby.

well he has a 2008 and he is keeping it, so i think its kind of dumb to have 2 of practically the same car. i just think if your going to start a car collection, you should diversify a little bit. but thats just me, keep in mind im not saying that your opinion is dumb, i just think owning multiple of the same sports car makes no sense.
