I was told you can use a piece of rubber hose, the type made to be submerged in gas. Put a tee fitting on the bottom so it won't suck off the bottom of the tank. I may do this to mine, right now I'm running off the factory electric pump through a reg. So far so good.

50resto.com has a pickup tube made for this, but youre better off sumping the tank.

This is why I got a fuel cell and a holley in-line pump. Tank looked like crap inside, and I dont like the idea of just sticking a rubber hose in my tank and calling it a pickup tube.
