Default '89 mustang 5.0 won't start hot

got an '89 5.0 in my factory five roadster. starts just fine when cold but not so much when it's hot. did some online interwebs research and swapped the TFI module. no luck. new starter. again, no joy. i've read some posts on other forums that ECM might be culprit. before i go down that road, any of you guys have experience with this? recommendations?

When you experience the no-start condition, check the - and + terminals of the coil with an ohm meter. If the meter reads around 80 ohms it's good, if it reads shorted (around 2 ohms or less) replace the coil. Here's a link... http://www.international-auto.com/fi...ition-coil.cfm

thanks for the suggestion. i'll give it a try - wonder how the coil could be the issue but an easy check.

The coil could be the issue...when it it gets hot its properties can change. The ignition module can behave this way as well. This is an indicator the coil or ignition module is on its way out.
