New 911 GT3 RS
So, they're going to a 500hp 4.0L flat 6 now. With some other various suspension upgrades.

Technology is really pushing vehicle performance into new realms. Even the FIA had to force rules changes in Formula 1 to reduce power, for safety reasons. The previous 3.0L V10's were pushing the cars at Monza to over 230mph in the long straights. It was suspected the n/a 3.0L V10s were pushing close to or perhaps just past 1,000hp. So they mandate 2.4L V8's with iron based internals and the power dropped off to ~700hp. After just a few years the power is back up to possibly just over 800 on some engines.
Technology today is making cars really fast.

Yeah. They don't make very many GT3 RS's to begin with though. The 997 GT3 RS Mk1 was less than 2,000 produced, and the Mk2 is less than 500. So the total number of 997 GT3 RS's produced since 2006 is less than 2,500...or an average of less than 500 per year(been making them for about 5 1/2 years now).
So the GT3 RS 4.0 will be about on par for typical GT3 RS production numbers, provided they only make it for about 1-1.5 years. Then they'll go to a different platform maybe?
They may end up making more though, depends on demand. They originally only slated the 997 GT3 RS for total production volume of just a few hundred, but demand was so high they've ended up producing almost 2,500 so far.
