Honestly this reminds me of the race I used to do between my 2005 G6 and a buddies 04 NE GT Auto. From a dig there wasn't a chance in hell but from a 55 roll I could hold dead even until I hit my speed limiter (IIRC 110?). Basically his car was faster than me by a large margin but I was able to start the race at peak power and he was always caught in low rpms. By the time he made it to his power band I was against my limiter so he never had a chance to rip away.

This. Another prime example... I could probably run pretty close to stone from a roll but he would destroy me at the track/from a dig.

I'm shocked as well considering that I've beaten a few, and you're trapping higher than I am. The ones I've beaten we're non Hr motors but had more work than what you ran against. I've taken out 1 Hr though, that was a lot closer. +1on not being in your sweet spot. That's my guess.
