B U S T E D
Lined up with a gorgeous Challenger R/T. Light pops green and we nail it for a decent sprint, I pulled ahead and then shut it down, Challenger comes up and the driver and I are giving each other thumbs up and howling, as it was about as loud and as classic a line up as you can get. Uncle Sam himself was superimposed over the image us while he flexed with a U.S. Flag in one hand and shift **** in the other. Then booooooom. Lights; so we pull over. About six cop cars descend and split half on me and the Challenger. A decent CROWD of cops begins to form as they exit their cars, at least 5-6 behind me, but they were all smiles... =-? As I poo my underoos, the one that pulled me over came out smiling, as I saw in my rear view. He talked to me and could barely get a word out from the chuckles, I gave him my info and he went back. He never ran my stuff. I see the cops behind me still smiling and laughing. Of course I didn't think any of it b/c I'm freaking pulled over, pale as a sheet of paper, and my mind was totally hydro-locked and seized; bent rods, holes in the block, you name it. I knew I screwed up and hey this is what you get when you do stuff. So I'm ready for it and at peace with my fate. The cop asks me to come clean. We talked for minute and he hands me back my stuff as he's STILL trying to hide his smile and tells me to have a good night. Whaaa? Still in utter shock, I do a u-turn and they're all checking out the cars and then I heard it: "that was a great race..." from one of the cops to another.
Needless to say, I'm taking up knitting or something for a while or sticking to my obsessive detailing.
Cliffs:
Went at it with a Challenger R/T
Our combined awesomeness created a wormhole and we slipped into the twilight zone
Need a new pair of shorts.

Honestly, people are typically way more nervous around police/troopers/etc than they should be. Most of them are just as laid back as the rest of us. I had a trooper tell me to "smoke em" while going through a DL check in my GTO, lol. Anyway, good run against that R/T and glad those boys didn't give you a hard time. Wish they were all that cool....I guarantee you one or two of those cops lost some money on that race!
