Well I finally got into it last night, lol!! I have a 15 Premium GT convertible M6. It has an Airaid cai, DS i2020 canned 93 octane tune, and MBRP Race catback. No other mods. I came across a 10-13 SS/RS (it had the red SS badge). I don't know if it was a manual trans or had any mods. But it did have the stock exhaust. We were both making a left turn. I was in the middle lane and he was to my left. So he started to get on it before he cleared the turn. And he cleared the turn before I did and I saw him REALLY get on it, lol!! I cleared and got on it and easily caught and passed him. So of course as he came up again I gave him a thumbs up and he gave me a wave. So about 3 miles up the road we both got to a red light. I didn't think he would go for it again but sure enough he did. I saw he waited to get traction first and then romped on it. So both times he got the jump on me. I waited for him to get on it and then I got on it and reeled him in and passed him once again pretty easily. I figured that if he was stock and a manual trans then I probably have about 20 or 30 hp on him considering my mods. If he was an auto then I probably have about 60 hp on him. And considering that my GT with me and a full tank of gas weighs about 4160, that makes the weight difference pretty even. So it was a pretty good race. He went his way after that and I went mine.

Most of you may know that I have a 2010 2SS/RS M6. Mine is a full bolt on SS. I remember back when I got it and it was stock with a set of GMPP mufflers. So from what I remember, I always thought my SS was very fast. Which is why I was eager to see how my GT stacks up to the 5th Gen SS. So I was surprised at how easily I was able to beat him. I suspect he had the auto trans tho. Anyway I have a buddy with a 15 GT with LTs, GT350 IM, custom tune, Airaid cai, lighter driveshaft, and suspension mods. I plan to race him in my SS soon to see how they stack up to each other. Stay tuned for that one!!
