Stability of stock fox mustang @120mph?
Thinking of participating in the silver state classic next year. How is the straight line stability of a well maintained stock 1988 at that speed? I have not had mine over 100 mph. Speedo only goes to 85, so doubt I have really gone much over 90. Was stable and solid there, but another 30mph I'm sure is another ball game.

Ehhh, it's shaky... and of course the faster you go the higher risk you run of seriously getting hurt.. But I did it a few times with my stock suspension (minus quad shocks) before I did the full chassis upgrade and it never bothered me really... However, I don't know how easy it will be to reach that speed in a stock motor fox, ha.. I had quite a bit of power mods at that point and I think the fastes I got to was around 130-140..

From what I have read, top speed of stock is a bit over 130, so I agree, 120 is likely the top I can expect really. Top allowed for the class is 124, I would attempt to average 110 for the 90 miles. When you say you have done it, did that mean the classic, or the speed?

I've never heard of the silver state classic, sorry... Don't really even know what it entail.. I was just saying I've hit that speed a few times with stock suspension.. Did I like it, not completely, could I handle it, yeah..

I have been trying to read as much as I can on the subject. Have the basic idea, though there is some conflicting advice ot there. This event is really sustained speed over 90 miles. Not really a strain from a cornering perspective. What did you do to your fox suspension wise?

Ya, my initial thoughts were to instal flsfc's and the bilsteens mm suggests, that allow there use on the coil over kit. Was also thinkining lca, but the more reading I do, the less I'm sure that would be the next step. tires too, my choice there is restricted by the rules.
