Default HELP with lowering springs install

So I ordered a set of SR Performance lowering springs form American Muscle and I decided to try the install myself. It's been a nightmare.

I'm using the installation guide found here>>>>> http://www.americanmuscle.com/srperf...t-install.html

I am trying to remove the strut rod nut (Step 11 on the tutorial) and the nut and strut rod just keep spinning. The question I have is, do I have to have an impact wrench to get this nut off? Any help would be extremely helpful Thanks.

With out an impact driver your going to have to get creative on trying to find a way to hold the center while breaking the nut loose.

I suggest an impact.

If you don't have an impact, ask a friend to help. Mine were a bear to get off but after having a friend hold it steady and using some PB blaster they came off easier.

Impact is almost the only way. You can hold the shaft at the very top with a rag
And vise grips but if the shaft gets marred up it will lead to premature
failure of the strut. I hope you are using spring compressors

the stud strut should have a slot in it for an open end screwdriver, then use box wrench of appropriate size
