i have a 2005 mustang with a v6. i was driving back home after about a 200 mile trip and about 5 miles from the house the check engine light came on. car started to surge for power so i pulled over and noticed it was idling rough also. checked everything i could think of. battery cables were tight, changed the plugs, checked the air filter, checked the wires they were all still intact. need to find an answer quick gotta go on a trip in two days. any help or advice on troubleshooting would be greatly appreciated.

took it ford today and found out that one of the fuel injector wires had tension on it and had pulled out of the connector. the wire was exposed and was grounding out. luckily it was covered under the extended warranty.
