Question "new" maf

I've recently added a '98 GT Maf to compliment my 19lb injectors and it smoothed everything out, no longer running rich. The car seems to have perked up a little too, bonus.

Now I have a new question: What's the measure of the GT maf? It's no monster of course but it's obviously larger than my stock one.

Should be the same 70mm. I have a 95 5.0 and had a 98 V6, and the MAF is exactly the same size for the two (before I went to a 75mm Pro-M of course), only difference is the sampling tube and the MAF sensor.

I suppose it could be the same 70mm. But this one is visibly larger. I had to alter my cai tubing, stretching the rubber coupling on the "out" side and grinding out the holes on the "in" side, just get it to fit.

Is the MAF black or aluminum in appearance?

Yea, it should be 70mm, Ford didn't use smaller MAFs except on 93 and earlier models, in 94 all models used 70mm or larger.

I got a measurement and as far as i can tell it's 73mm. Has that ever been an option? I got this off of a gt that was totaled and being parted out, so it might not have been stock.

C&L and Mac and a few others make a 73mm unit that is a very nice housing.

Get some pictures uploaded on here and we can tell you what it is.
