Default Transmission swap question

I was thumbing through the latest issue of 5.0 Mustang and in one section they mention using Performance Automatic's Pro-Fit Bellhousing System to mate a newer 5R55S to the old 5.0L and 4.6L.

Here's the question: Is our transmission bellhousing bolt pattern the same as either of those V8's, I would guess not but it'd be nice to have the option of replacing my aging 4R70W with a 5-speed auto.

The reason I'm interested

Gear ratios for the 4R70W are:
1st = 2.84:1
2nd = 1.55:1
3rd = 1.00:1
4th = .70:1

vs.

Gear ratios for the 5R55S are:
1st gear 3.22:1
2nd gear 2.29:1
3rd gear 1.55:1
4th gear 1.00:1
5th gear .71:1

IIRC our bellhousing bolt patterns are the same as the old 5.0s...at least for the manual trans anyway.

I believe you could make it work, I just don't think (I) personally would waste time swapping an auto for an auto

Yeah I've given the idea of a manual swap some time but I honestly prefer an auto for my current car.
