Default Replacing rear amps in my 01

My bass went out in my 01 stang and I have removed both rear amps and sound is the same so I would assume both amps are bad? Is there a way to test them? Also wanting to see if anyone has 2 working ones they want to get rid of? F7ZF-18C808-AA TY

Look on ebay and just buy two Mach 460 amps.

The amps are hard to test, but generally speaking when you unplug one, the entire circuit is cut and the sound cans out. It's the oddball manner in which the Mach 460 is wired. So just because you took out one doesn't mean both are bad, however it's not a bad idea to change them both.

Hey thanks for the reply! I was thinking that if one was not working it would make the entire circuit fail I was told maybe a car audio place could test them. I went on ebay and they want like $60 a piece so was hoping to find some cheaper I though about going to a pick and pull place but Im not sure if they have any kind of guarantee on that sort of thing

Mach 460 uses a strange ohm or something. It's the worst system Ive read about to change parts for without replacing the whole setup.

The Mach systems are wired a 6 OHMs and then Ford split it to run 3 OHMs to either side. That's why you can't efficiently run any aftermarket parts with the Mach system. That's why I simply upgraded my Mach 460 to a Mach 1000 in my Cobra instead of going all aftermarket. The system sounded amazing for the price and considering it was a factory add on. Sure it's not perfect, but unless you want to spend several thousand on a good aftermarket system, the Mach 1000 is a great substitute.

Man, I remember that. It's been forever since I built the sound system in the V6. That Mach 460 was a pain. I might have my rear deck (amps and speakers) sitting in storage somewhere. All in working condition when I took them out. Make me an offer.
