Default axel swap and shift kit!

i got a couple of question about an axel swap: a everyone is telling me that i should get a gt that it will run my gears lower , is that worth it? b. is it diy job? i got a good garage that i can do the work in and some help. the other question is whats the best shift kit or a good trusted brand that wont **** up my tranny in the long run its a 97 v6 3.8 thank you in advance.

simply switching to a gt rear end doesnt guarantee that you will have a different gear ratio. you will have to do a little more research and maybe pick up a rear end that already has the gear ratio that you want. Other than that it can be a diy job. as for a shift kit, i would recommend the j-mod and tuner to firm up the shifts

i personally just upgraded to an 8.8", got the stock differential built up a little bit and got the gear ratio bumped up a little but to 3.55. If you are keeping the 7.5" then 3.73 and 4.10 are going to be your options. depends on if you want quicker or even more quick
