Default Oil Leak/filter mount question

I have a friend that has an 2004 GT. It has developed a leak in the area of the oil filter. As best as I can tell its coming from somewhere immediately above the oil filter. My question is this; is there some kind of common leak point around/above the filter?

Does anyone have a diagram of the filter mount area that they could upload here or email to me?

Thanks

I don't have a diagram for the filter assembly on the 04 but there is a gasket behind the oil filter adaptor/cooler.

Yeah, the oil filter adapter has a gasket that goes to the block. It's been a while since I've installed one, but it was a new one on a new engine.

No biggie, most of us sixxers own a GT as well so you'd still get some help, but you will get better/faster help in the specific forum.

See my response to your post in the V8 section. To get a diagram of a Ford part and its related parts, I usually go to motorcraft.com. They have exploded views exactly like the ones at the ford dealers parts department.

Good luck...
