Electronic Oil Pressure Guage

Electronic Oil Pressure Guage
I purchased an electronic gauge for my 08, v6. My question is this, can I splice into the wire going to the stock oil pressure sending unit, and run that to the gauge, instead of putting in a T fitting to accommodate both units? Also, is the pressure sensor by the oil filter, or on the drivers side (I have read conflicting articles). I would assume it would be by the filter, I am just not entirely sure.
This is the unit I purchased:

No you cannot.
The stock pressure gauge sender is analog.
It makes a connection when the pressure is above
5 psi and unmakes it below 5 psi.
The stock 'gauge' is not actually a gauge.
It is an idiot light of sorts disguised as a gauge.
You must use the sender that came with the
aftermarket gauge with a "T" fitting.
2008, it is on the side of the block on the drivers side
towards the front of the engine.

Ahhh okay, thanks for the information. I figured it would be something like that. I have the parts for the "T" fitting, so hopefully that project goes well once we thaw out from the winter. Any personal recommendations on what to link the voltage gauge up to? I was thinking about splicing into the alternator, just curious on your thoughts.

Your alternator is a constant 12VDC source.
The volt gauge will be drawing current and
displaying battery voltage 24/7.
I would connect to an ignition switched 12VDC.
The SJB is a good location to find a fuse that
is off with the key off and on with the key
in the run position. Use a tap-a-fuse (google).
