Default Mustang Mod Questions

Hello. I have a v6 09 and want to start making some changes. Intake, exhaust ect. I know I will need a tuner to perform some of these mods and I like to have the proper tools available to me before I start a project. With that said what is a good tuner and what is the best tuner that is available? I appreciate the assistance with this

I would go with an SCT tuner, which you can get with some of the packages from american muscle with the CAI's. Which also comes with the free tunes for life program so they can write the tunes and send them to you. I have ran their 92 octane tune for about 5 months now and it works fine. However I am going to have it custom tuned here in the spring cause I want to get a bit more out of it.

I have a Steeda CAI and I went from 380 or so rear wheel hp to 413 rear wheel hp. Mine is a GT though so you have to take that with a grain of salt when dealing with the V6. But you should see a decent increase in HP.

And welcome to the forums!!!

I highly recommend getting an SCT tuner with 3 CUSTOM tunes, which are created specifically for your car.

AM (BAMA) write some of the better tunes. Brenspeed is also good. Both can sell the SCT with their custom tunes and a decent CAI combo.

The ITSX units don't datalog very well, so if you're getting a custom tune, I know the tuner companies hate this one since it tends to loose connection all the time, making it really frustrating to try to upload or download any tunes. It's a good unit otherwise.

This is good advice. I just did mine with the AM package (Airaid & Bama) and I couldn't be happier. Unless you're a racer, this mod is plenty and it will make you smile.
