Bass tube to Shaker 500

Bass tube to Shaker 500
I'm thinking about connecting a bass tube to my Shaker 500. The tube does not have a amp so I would have to connect an amp to it. Any thoughts? Will I run into any issues or problems? How about any "how to" videos out there?
appreciate the help.

search in the stickies for taco bills write-ups and how tos. he shows how to run a power cable from the battery to the trunk. to get the signal to the amp, use a high to low level converter off one of the rear speakers. run a ground to chassis. mount your amp (I chose on the back of the drivers side back seat). hook up power, rcas from level converter, speaker wires, ground and enjoy your added bass. oh yah, might want to mount the bazooka somewhere. good luck

Thanks bl817. I do plan on mounting it behind the back seat. That's where I had one in my '82 5.0. Just heard so many issues with the Shaker 500, even though mine came with the car, I didn't want to open up a can of worms.

its not that big of deal to add a good aftermarket cd player, single or double din, to these cars. the shaker500 is pretty ok when its working, once it starts eating cds and the buttons fall off then its time to upgrade anyway. if you do, youll have to run an amp turn on and rcas from the front to the back. I went thru crutchfield and they sent me everything I needed and install was a snap. youll need the extra metra harness with the factory amp turn on and rcas to get signal to the factory amps for the door subs. good luck
