04 GT vert tire recs?
Hopefully I can answer most of the questions up front
driving style: slightly spirited. I'm not crazy behind the wheel, but yes I do like to drive my stang like it is meant to be driven.
driving conditions: being in coastal Florida is good for a lot of things, but tires it can be a lil tricky on. I mostly want a tire with a good compromise of wet and dry traction, and preferably with real decent treadwear. Ice/snow isn't a concern, but it can get down into the low 30s here for a week or so in the winter. Cost is a big concern also.
I am currently running Sumi HTR ZIII, and I really do love them, except I need to replace them after maybe 12K miles. Some of the tires that I am currently researching on sites such as tirerack (one of the first places I usually go to):
BFG g-force super sport a/s
Conti ExtremeContact DWS
Dunlop SP Sport Signature
GY Eagle GT
Kumho Ecsta ASX
Yoko Avid W4S
I realize the Sumis are UHP summer tires and these here are A/S tires, but I am willing to go with a/s tires if the price and treadwear are right without an extreme performance hit. while I have been looking at the above tires, any other suggestions are more than welcome too.
TIA
James

I did read that whole post, even the parts that had no bearing on my search. If you noticed, I did try to answer the questions about what kind of tire I was looking for. And I went over to tirerack and went through their decision guide. And I whittled down the tires they listed to a few that looked like they might work for what I want... and I posted those choices.. and here I was just asking for the opinions of the people that actually bothered to read my post.
Jazzer... I have seen many posts of yours. I do appreciate what you have done in trying to help many of us.

You will give up some handling and traction going to the all season tires. From what you stated you want a balance between those qualities and treadlife so I think the goodyear eagle GT and continental DWS are the two best options for you. They both offer decent treadlife and very good handling and traction.
