Default tire and rim help!

ok i have a 86 gt, stock. i need new tires and im gunna get new rims. i wanna get cobra r rims im thinking like 16's im just wondering if those will fit? the stock is 15. i want fat tires in the rear and skinny in the front. umm i was thinking like 250's in the back? will that work? and im not sure what size tire in the front, its 225 now and i want a size smaller or two. im also not sure if i can do this with the cobra r rims. can anyone help me with these questions. thank you. oh i also am gunna get bf goodrich tires, like just basic street tires.

the rim is 16x8 inch 4x 4.25" 15mm, hope this helps

^ That wheel will fit just fine and looking at a 255/50/16" appears to be the largest approved fitment for an 8" wheel. There may be some exceptions out there for a wider tire, but need to look at the approved fitment of the exact tire you want to run.

ok thanks what about the front? i want skinnier tires then 225 will a size down fit on those rims?

I am sure a 225/50 will fit on the 8" wheels, but just look up the specs of the tires you plan to use. A 225 is a proper fit for a 7" wheel, but is typically as wide as can be installed on one. Therefore, I see no reason why that same tire would not fit on an 8" wheel.
