Generally, a tire will pick up 5~8 PSI going from cold to hot. Much depends on the actual size of the tire, so what is it? Please give ALL three numbers

Lower profile tires will generally need more air pressure so profile would be nice

its an offset pair, front are 245/40/zr18 back are 265/35/zr18 , its on a v6 mustang if that makes any difference.

Yes.. the lower profile tires are going to require a bit more pressure than a higher profile one. My recommendation would be to start with maybe 36 PSI and see how they feel. Make sure the pressure is set when the tires are COLD and car has been parked, like over night. Drive it around for an hour or so and put on a bunch of highway miles. Take a pressure reading after this drive and see where they are.

Usually if I let them sit they will average out to 37ish about a month and just stay there... I don't really notice a difference of 37 vs 45

Really?

That is quite a differential and would expect you to have a much different steering response between the two pressures. If you don't, that is OK, just aren't pushing the car very hard in the corners, I would presume.
