10 Biggest Mustang Fails in History!
From weak engines to troublesome transmissions, let’s take a look back through these ten biggest Mustang fails in history.
With over 60 years of history, there’s no question that the Ford Mustang has been a massive success. From its humble beginnings to the modern track monsters of today, the Mustang is one of the most beloved vehicles that America has ever produced. V8 power and tire smoke are what it’s all about. (Even if the base model cars are typically what pays the bills.) Every car enthusiast should own at least one Ford Mustang in their life. However, despite all the success, there have been some pretty embarrassing Mustang fails as well. It is those Mustang fails that we are going to focus on today.
No car is perfect. Especially one that’s been around as long as the Pop-Tart. While the overall Mustang trajectory has been impressive, there have been some missteps along the way. There have been some weak sauce engines, frustrating transmissions, and questionable pricing practices. The following is our ranking of the biggest Mustang fails in history. We ranked them based on just how big a failure they were. Do you have any that you would add to the list?
10. Mustang GTD Price Tag
The Ford Mustang GTD is the most impressive factory Mustang ever. It is jam-packed with race technology that makes the street car better than the actual GT3 race car. The GTD is like no other Mustang in history. But as good as it is, the price is just absurd. With no options, you are looking at a little over $325,000. Loaded up, you are looking at a $400,000 Mustang. That is nearly double the Corvette ZR1. It is Ferrari 296 GTB, McLaren 750S, and Lamborghini Temerario money. And those cars are far more exotic than the Ford. The GTD is special, we all get that. We would all love to have one in our garage. But a $400K Mustang is tough to swallow. Especially when it comes with the $40K Mustang EcoBoost interior.
