Default Raxiom GPS Navigation 2010-2014 Mustangs...lessons learned

Well, I purchased the system and it arrived Monday, and tonight I installed it in my 2011 V6 Mustang....

It took about 3 hours fiddling around and getting it put in, but here's a few lessons learned about the system.

First off, they tell you that you can't use it without your car being a SYNC system...flat-out lie...my car is not a SYNC system, but you do lose some functions in the Raxiom system...

If you have a SYNC system everything you had in it will work fine with this unit such as bluetooth, USB, etc..

If you don't have SYNC it still works great....you have a touch radio system, the CD player works fine and contrary to what they say the navigation system works awesome as well as the backup camera, which I found to be a plus because in the 2011 Ford was too cheap to put a reverse indicator on the dash to tell you you're in reverse, when you go in reverse using Raxiom the backup camera automatically starts up so you know it's in reverse...

It has a AV hookup but I didn't use it because I don't have anything to plug into it to watch movies and why would I anyway I'm driving LOL..

I don't have bluetooth due to not having SYNC...the aux port in the center console doesn't work for some reason but I contacted them to see if there was a software update for that...

Overall I like it a lot, it's pretty nice compared to what I had before.

Well, I still can't figure out this AUX port problem, AM tells me to make sure I have all the connections right and they are....where does the AUX port in the center console route to in the radio? I may have missed something when I put everything back together.

If your car didn't have sync then the aux port went to 3 or 4 pins on the J2 connector on the back of the radio.

Keep looking every day....AM told me they wouldn't be back in stock until sometime in April but I kept checking several times a day and last week it showed in stock and I immediately placed an order.

Also, it goes under another name, Rosen GPS, if you google Rosen GPS Mustang you'll find other retailers other than American Muscle that sell it.

Even if you don't have Sync, the radio can support BlueTooth, USB, as long as it has it built
in. I got an Eonon Android radio, and have full functionality...

As far as fixing it, you need to re-route the wires from the CAR side of the harness to
the radio side AUX pins, or RCA inputs, whatever it has.

I know this is an old thread, hoping you see this. How did you get yours to work? I bought a used unit that was working but when I plug everything in the radio works, the AC controls work, the CD player works but I get no screen display. Any help is appreciated.
