Ford Performance Hosting First-Ever Virtual Car Show
Enjoy a carefully curated 23-car all-Blue Oval show from your comfy couch, courtesy of Ford Performance.
Right now, in a normal year, we’d be just getting into the meat of car show season. Sadly, we’re pretty much stuck inside instead. But that doesn’t mean we can’t all get together virtually and enjoy a little bit of good-old-fashioned camaraderie. All while scoping out a couple dozen amazing cars. Because thanks to Ford Performance, we’ve got an all-Ford virtual car show to attend on May 21 at 4 p.m. EST.
The show, which takes place on the Ford Performance YouTube Channel, is the first of its kind. The Blue Oval’s performance arm came up with the idea a few weeks ago, at which time they asked everyone to submit their rides for consideration. After combing through hundreds of entries, Ford Performance chose 23 carefully-curated rides to show off live.
The virtual car show will be hosted by a pair of Blue Oval enthusiasts themselves – John Clor, Ford Performance Enthusiast Communications Manager, and Matt Andersen, Curator of Transportation at the Henry Ford Museum. No word on what sort of vehicles we’re going to be treated to. But we’re positive there will be at least a handful of Mustangs, both old and new.
Personally, we’re excited to see what sort of mix the team at Ford Performance came up with. It couldn’t have been easy to narrow down the large number of entries, so you know it’s going to be good. And there’s just something about this time of year that makes us want to get outside, enjoy the nice weather, and rub elbows with our fellow Blue Oval fans.
Since that’s pretty much impossible at the moment, the next best thing is this Ford Performance virtual car show. It’s undoubtedly awesome that those folks took time out of their hectic schedules to put this together for us, the enthusiast community. But as they’ve proven time and time again, they value us and recognize our importance to Ford’s continued success.
So be sure to tune in this afternoon. Because we have a feeling this virtual car show is going to be almost as good as the real thing!
