For three days in September, Bowling Green, Kentucky will be home to Fords from all over the galaxy (including a few Galaxies).

Bowling Green, Kentucky is perhaps best known to car enthusiasts as the home of Chevrolet’s Corvette. Though for one weekend in September, Bowling Green will be taken over by Fords from all over the universe. Enter the Holley Intergalactic Ford Festival. That’s because Holley’s Intergalactic Ford Festival is coming to town.

The three-day event, which runs from September 26 through 29, will take place at Bowling Green’s Beech Bend Raceway Park and NCM Motorsports Park.

The Holley event, open to anything and everything Ford-powered, will coincide with the NMRA World Finals. In addition to drag racing, there will be several other events for Ford fanatics to participate in.

Attendees can participate in a show-and-shine, a swap meet, a cruise through the countryside, drifting, an autocross, and a road course time attack. At one point, the schedule is marked off for all Ford vehicles at the event to start their engines at the same time. The event organizers are calling it a “Sonic Boom,” and it’s never been done before.

Another event is called the 3S Challenge, which stands for “Speed, Stop, and Steer.” It combines the thrills of drag racing with the precision of autocross. Cars accelerate in a short drag race, then turn 180 degrees and complete a slalom before coming to a stop in a box.

Participants can compete in multiple events, and at the end, a Grand Champion is crowned, based on their combined performance in all of the events. There’s more to the event than just competition, though.

YouTube car personality Cleetus McFarland will be in attendance, as well as the original Bigfoot monster truck. You can also see Vaughn Gittin Jr. get his Mustang drift car sideways. It really does seem like this event will be the center of the Ford universe, at least for three days at the end of September.

While we expect to see plenty of Mustangs there, we’re excited to see what kinds of other crazy Fords (or Ford-powered vehicles) show up. We’re hoping to see a few DeTomaso Panteras, maybe a Koeniggsegg CC8S, and even a LaForza, if we’re lucky.
