Let’s Throwback to a Blown Up Mustang
Lets do a little Throwback this Thursday, but it comes with a safety message.
It has ben almost two years since that fateful day when a nitrous tank made a Mustang explode in the owner’s driveway. The original story came about in June of 2013. The new owner of a souped up Fox Body, complete with nitrous kit, had his car destroyed in mere seconds. The tank was sitting in the back of the car, and the heat of the Texas sun was enough to cause the tank to burst, ripping the Mustang apart. According to the local news affiliate News West 9, pieces of the car were found as far as three homes away.
So just keep that in mind, kids. A pressurized vessel will see its pressure increase with rising heat. Sometimes that pressure increase can have some catastrophic effects. Don’t let your drag toy explode, keep those nitrous tanks out of the sun.
