Mustang GT Seeks 750 Rear Wheel Horsepower, Breaks Dyno

Its massive procharger runs with 13 psi of boost, and while it’s running on 110 octane racing fuel, it’s tuned for the street.

One of the great things about the Mustang is their seemingly endless ability to be tuned and modified. And while we come across modded ’60s cars, Foxes, and SN95s all the time, there are those heroes out there that are transforming their new S550s into absolute beasts.

In this recent video from YouTubers Mustang Lifestyle, host Andrew picks up Lewis’ evil-looking 5.0 on a trailer and sets out to make some dyno pulls at Coastal Dyno in Tampa, Florida. At first glimpse, the “Procharged Beast” is a modded S550 done right. It’s a GT with a Cobra front end, smoked headlights, and a massive hood scoop. Its massive procharger is running a 13 psi tune. And while it’s running on 110 octane racing fuel, it’s tuned for the street. Lewis says the car was making about 725 horsepower on its last dyno run. His goal is somewhere in the 750 to 760 hp range.

So they trailer the car to Coastal Dyno, and we catch a glimpse of a number of dream cars. There are a few Cobras, a procharged Shelby GT350R,  some Teslas, and an LS-swapped ’69 Camaro. But there’s a problem: Once they get the Procharged Beast on the dyno, the machine breaks. Andrew clowns for the camera, saying: “The car is so badass that the dyno blew up!” to console themselves, they make a few quick straightaway runs in the car, then put it back on a trailer to find another dyno.

They get the car to nearby Mastiff Performance, and… well, the results will have to wait for another video. Louis has something come up, leaving Andrew to work on his ride, a 2003 Cobra Terminator. We may not get resolution on the Procharged Beast’s power numbers, but at least we get some sweet parting shots of one good looking Terminator. If you’re a fan of tuned ‘Stangs, this video is definitely worth a watch.
