Street Outlaws’ Boosted GT’s New Twin-Turbo Mustang at No Prep

By -

Boosted GT’s brand new big-tired Mustang suffered a critical hit, but we’re betting it’s going to be just fine.

Fans of the wildly popular Discovery Channel series Street Outlaws know the name Boosted GT very well. The driver of a small-tire, twin-turbo yellow SN95 Mustang moved from Texas to Oklahoma with the intention of making a name for himself in the street racing scene, and he most certainly accomplished that goal. But the self-proclaimed “fastest small-tire street car in the world” could only take him so far.

If you’ve followed Street Outlaws since the early days, you already know that cars like Boosted GT’s old Mustang are quickly finding themselves non-competitive. And sure enough, his yellow Mustang fell victim to new and faster cars. And like any other competition in life, if you can’t beat ’em, you join ’em. So that’s exactly what he did with his brand new Mustang—this orange, big-tired, twin-turbo monster as.

Unfortunately, as new cars often do, the new orange Mustang suffered some early breakage. On its very first pass at this no prep event, as seen in the above YouTube video by tomeighty. Sadly, the transmission appears to go in the middle of the burnout, so we don’t even get to see this sweet new ride make a single pass. But if it’s any consolation prize, Boosted’s girlfriend (and fellow Street Outlaw) Kayla does manage to rip her new Mustang down the strip a few times. And it looks pretty darn fast.

Hopefully Boosted will get his new car gremlins worked out in time for the next season of list races. Currently, there are way to many GM products dominating the list, and that needs to change. And considering how much success Boosted had with his old, small-tired Mustang, we’re anxious to see how his new big-tired car fares!
