Ah, you can just feel the nostalgia in the air. It’s Thursday, and that means everyone is doing their best to hashtag and relive the memories of a time gone by. Our #TBT choice comes courtesy once again from MotorWeek and their wonderful “Retro Review” series. This week we are looking at the 1983 Mustang 5.0 GT Convertible. (The vid below is a double review, so unless you just really want to hear about the BMW 633 CSi, you should just skip to the 4:30 mark.)

I love these reviews because they help remind us just how good the Mustangs used to be, especially in the face of their competition. Hearing a 0-60 time of 7.5 seconds for a V8 may sound depressing in today’s modern car age, but then you hear how it bested many hard-top sports cars of the day, and you just feel a bit better.

Beyond the sprightly performance, MotorWeek loves the power operated top, the use of plastic strips instead of metal buttons for the top cover, and the sharp and aggressive overall look.

And I love that Ford has been producing top in their class Mustangs for decades, and they show no signs of stopping.
