How-To Swap Pads and Bleed Brembo Brakes

This Video Walks You Through a Brembo Brake Job
Do you do your own car maintenance? Have you ever second-guessed your procedures, or had the feeling that you’re doing it all wrong? It’s okay to admit it. After all, just because we’re Mustang enthusiasts, it doesn’t mean we’re certified mechanics. Especially when it comes to specialized equipment such as Brembo brakes.
Few things in the car maintenance spectrum are easier than replacing brakes pads. In fact, swapping pads can be easier than performing an oil change. But that’s only if you hate getting underneath the car. Anyhow, things are a bit different when you’re dealing with a Brembo brake setup, compared to stock. Although that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s more difficult, just different.

This short and informational video by ZentRose does a great job of walking you through the quick brake job. The host performs the basic tasks of swapping brake pads and bleeding the brake system on his 2011 Shelby GT500. He goes on to demonstrate how to remove the caliper pins, and use a nifty tool called a “caliper spreader” to push the brake pistons out of the way. As a result, the brake pad swap is over in a jiffy.
Then comes the bleeding procedure. The video goes in-depth about bleeding both, and not just one bleeding screw. In case you weren’t aware that Brembo calipers have two bleeding screws, now you are. So listen up!
Enjoy the video and get your Brembo brake job on!
