Despite No Immediate Changes or Updates to America’s Pony Car, Ford Brought Show-Stopping Mustangs to NAIAS in Detroit

It’s expected of Ford to put the hammer down at their home auto show. After all, Detroit is all about big muscle and looking cool. So what better way to represent those two qualities than with the latest show-stopping Mustangs?

NAIAS 2017 is getting ready to open up to the public. In case you don’t know what in the world NAIAS is, that’s okay. NAIAS stands for the North American International Auto Show, or as we like to call it, the Detroit Auto Show. Isn’t that much easier? Of course it is!

Back to the cool stuff. Ford made big headlines recently by announcing the addition of a Mustang Hybrid within a few year’s time. But the Mustang heads into the 2018 model year practically unchanged. Despite the relative stagnation of the pony car, Ford brought some gorgeous machinery to Detroit, and we were on hand to capture the goods.

The mighty Shelby Mustang GT350 was present, along with a stand-alone V8 Voodoo engine on a pedestal for everyone to admire. A carbon fiber wheel cut-out along with a Brembo brake kit were also on display, which show just how proud Ford is of their budget-racer.

The GT350 is a ride worthy of praise, but it was the P51 Mustang by ROUSH that had journalists and photographers drooling. How could it not? With sleek matte wheels, a metallic but semi-glossy paint job, and carbon fiber accents throughout, it’s definitely hot.

NAIAS 2017 will be open to the public from January 14-22, and it’s definitely worth a look.
