Watch Thieves Pull a Gone in 60 Seconds Move on This Mustang GT350R

By -

The thieves even drive the Mustang through a service bay door.

Employees of Crossroads Ford in Indian Trail, NC arrived Monday morning to see a pair of brigands had absconded with one of their prized jewels: a brand-new Shelby GT350R with just a few hundred miles on the odometer. The gorgeous black beauty, featuring wide carbon-fiber wheels, a big rear wing, extra-low ride height, and deep aerodynamic splitter, was driven off the showroom floor and through a pair of glass doors into the service area.

In the video you can see the car driving into the service area, and then over a stand-up figure of the Michelin Man — his name is Bibendum. That’s somewhat ironic considering the car is fitted with ultra-sticky Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires. The thieves then proceed to tackle a short curb separating two service stalls. They then attempt to open one of the bay doors for a few minutes before deciding to use the six-figure Super ‘Stang as a battering ram.

If for nothing else, we suppose a GT350’s 429 lb-ft of torque is good for tearing down large garage doors. This is a car with excellent brakes, but even giant Brembo monobloc calipers can’t stop people from acting out their darkest Grand Theft Auto dreams.

From March 5th until the 13th, the car was nowhere to be found, but once this pair of malefactors decided they’d had their fill of hooliganism, they left the now quite obviously damaged track-day Mustang behind a business nearby the dealership. Presumably, the miscreants determined it wouldn’t be so easy to sell or chop up such a rare serial-numbered car without getting caught. If you live in the area and know anything about the fools who committed these horrific acts of automobile theft and property damage, be sure to contact the proper authorities.

And Crossroads Ford, if you’re looking to offload a certain theft recovery GT350R for a deeply discounted price, we’re positive one of our Mustang Forum members would be happy to take it off your hands.
