I've never believed much in this stuff whether it was for a motorcycle or snowmobile. Never even thought about it for cars. With the so called possible shortage this weekend, I am wondering about possibly premium maybe being harder to find on the road. I had the Ford tune upgrade installed several years ago, and it requires 91 octane. Any proven tested booster's to use with 87? Looking for proof, not just " I've used brand XYZ for years".

Looking into "octane boosters", I found they all relied on the use of ALCOHOL to raise octane rating. (The octane rating of pure ETHANOL is 113). However, loading up on alcohol may not be such a great idea, as unless designed for it, most fuel systems react adversely to the solvent effects of alcohol not found with gasoline. Others are usable: Benzene, 115; Toluene, 121; Isopropanol 118 (Propyl Alcohol), etc.
