Dude your wasting your time man the paint will come off eventually because of the texture plus all the work you have to put into them with taking them off sanding and everything else go to (WWW.V6MUSTANGSTUFF.COM) then click on take off parts man. $65.00 for both any color you need and $32.00 (I think that is what I Paid) for shipping so you got a total of $97.00 dollars invested for the orignal color and no paint will ever be as good as factory paint

Yea buy the gt take offs save the trouble, it took me 30min to change them out. You should stop at the Ford dealership too and order some black plastic christmas tree connectors you may break a few taking them out they are like $.70 a piece, one bag should be good.

PS. they look great.

Thanks, I might just buy it from v6stuff instead of painting it.

You can get the fasteners from your local automotive paint supply store, I bought the spraycan there, they also will mix paint and put it ina spray can for you. I preped the plastic by washing it really well, drying it, cleaning it with alcohol, letting it dry then spraying it. I like both ideas, I didn't want to wait for the gt take offs.

if your crappy at painting then it will eventually come off. its not that hard, think of it like a project. all you have to do is take 100 grit sandpaper on an electric sander and smooth the panels out. plus the sanding will help the paint stick better. then do like boss 244 said and get the paint mixed and put in a spray can. do it in even layers and wait until dry and wetsand with 2500 grit sandpaper if you want that glass like look. it's pretty simple really.
