mustang questions
Hey guys. Just joined and look forward to being here. I actually currently don't own a Mustang but will be getting a black 06GT Coupewith 15,000 miles on it in about a week. Just a few appearance questions for all of you:
1) Does anyone know where I can see pics of a black 05-08 mustang with dark red racing stripes?
2) Does anyone here have the black 05-08 with black rims on them? If so, what is your opinion on the look of this?
3) What body kits are most popular/suggested for a black mustang? (nothing to gaudy)
4) I am thinking about going to an upholstery shop and getting a custom, dark red interior? has any one done this?
5) On the headlights positioned on the grille, is there a way to move these around or put them somewhere else like the Shelby?
6) Is there a way to get a body kit resembling the shelby front?
7) Do you guys suggest lowering the car? Does it give it a nice touch in your opinion?
If you can't tell, I am extremely excited to get my car. Any pictures/comments would be greatly appreciated. thanks!

2) I have the black/black rim combo and it looks fantastic. I'll post some pics for you.
3)I like the Saleen, Roush, Cervini, and GT500 body kits.
4) I havent seen any custom red interiors.
5 and 6)You can purchase everything you need for the shelby front fascia for about $850.
7) Lowering with the eibach pro kit makes the stance look perfect.

I just did this on our car this week. You'll have to use some imagination with the pony packae grill vs your GT grill! Here is a write up from anotherthread of the stripe kit I bought.
HEAT GUN! And takeyour time! Put a cloth over the squeegie to keep from scratching car OR the stripes. On the flat surface use soapy water, on the bumpers install dry and use a heat gun on low setting.(a hair dryer could workif you could make a stand for it as I needed two hands on the stripe and/or squeegie) I may redo the left rear bumper stripe as it's kind of curved inward. Or I may just learn from it lol! I'm a little uneasy about how they'll hold up to our weather and washing/waxing. I'm guessing touchless style high pressure drive though car washesare off limits for now!
To prep take your washer nozzles off (about 2 mins) remove center rear brake (done from the inside unplug and depress some detenttabs and comes offtowards the outside (5 mins tops) the remove the chrome emblem around the keyhole for trunk. (it just pulls off <1 min) ( I was amazed how much dirt was under here, used rubbing alc. to 'reenergize' the glue and put back on)
This was the kit I got. Don't remember much in the way of instructions...LOL

Becareful with your mesurements as On a vert there is plenty of material BUT on the fast backs I'm guessing there isn't much extra and the compound curves the lenghts might be more then just an actual single measurement. The job is NOT perfect but it looks very good (IMHO) from about <5 foot away (I think because I know where the seems are and a perfectionist!!)
Hope this helps anyone that wants to try this themselves.....
