Default Rocker Panels...V6 vs GT

Ok, so I feel a bit retarded even asking but what exactly is the difference between the V6 and GT rocker panels? I have an 07 V6 and I'm contemplating either getting GT rocker panels in torch red or just painting the ones I have now. I know all the V6 rockers are black, but I'm not really sure what the difference is. I recently had my hood and 2007 V6 spoiler painted glossy black to match a black fuel door and blackout panel on the back after my wife backed into the front of my car. I didn't feel like redoing all my stripes, and paying out the @$$ to have the hood blended to match the torch red. Anyway, if anyone knows the real difference and/or advantages or disadvantages of painting versus "upgrading" to the GT rockers, let me know!

Thanks!

The V6 ones are textured and the GT ones are smooth. I had the stock V6 ones painted Sonic Blue to match the car, but the body shop at to spray something on them so that the paint would stick.

aha! Thanks! How much did it cost to get them repainted? May be cheaper to just buy GT rockers...not sure how much something like this would cost here in SA. Here is my inspiration for my car. For now, planning on keeping the V6 spoiler I have, but this is very close to the look I want. I'd also prefer to cut my V6 bumper (when I get to that point) rather than getting a GT bumper. I'm all about people knowing I have a V6, but I want that GT power/speed.

Oops, here's the inspiration. Was featured in a recent issue of 5.0 magazine. This car is awesome.

If you look on a Shelby or ShelbyKR you will find a V6 rocker panel proudly attached to the sides. The ones I've seen were not painted......looked just like ours.

The v6 bumper looks freakin awesome with the tailpipes sticking out.

The only downfall is that when you have painted rockers, the body lines in the back look high. The good part is, there is only one angle that those body lines are really noticeable at, and that is directly from a side view. Ninety-nine percent of the people probably won't notice it if they are not specifically looking for it though. I'll probably still be getting a California Special bumper in the future though, since it matches my blackout out front airdam
