I've had the D3 for a few months now, installed it myself, and love this thing. Zero problems. DVD, touchscreen, XM Radio, GPS works great.

so i think i am going to go ahead and get the avic d3. Can anyone give me some tips on installing it? I want to do it myself, and any useful notes would be nice before i go ahead and do it. Also... can I purchase some extra woofers to install with my avic???

 

Also, can anybody tell me how to bypass the dvd player so I can play it while driving. It's just nice for the passenger to watch something when taking trips.

 

Go to www.avic411.com. They have a very good thread on how to bypass the parking brake to play DVD's while driving. You'll also need this from Crutchfield:

Crutchfield will send along instructions on how to match your Shaker 500 wires to their harness. It's very simple stuff. Took me about 30 minutes to install my D3.

I don't think that is the right Double-DIN chassis for the avic d3. Can anybody help me out with finding the exact model needed? Also I am going to order a sub and amp to put in the trunk.. Anybody already have one or have any good recommendations?
