We had several vans wrapped with vinyl decals for our business that needed to be removed. The 3M product works best to remove adhesive. It's called appropriately enough, 3M General Purpose Adhesive Cleaner LOL. It also works great to remove any tar or oil that gets on your paint and absolutely won't harm the finish. I do strongly recommend you wear protective gloves while using it because it contains a lot of nasty solvents in terms of health concerns.
I would definitely not recommendusing any oven cleaner because it typically contains very strong caustic ingredients such as sodium hydroxide. If it contacts any metal parts particularly aluminum, it could cause corrosion.
