Paint Swirls
I just had the majority of my Vista Blue GT repainted (insurance claim, stone chip damage). Everything except the trunk lid & rear bumper. Since I got it back I have washed it twice, by hand, with a clean wash mit and pressure washer at home. I'm pretty careful about how I wash, working down the panels, rinsing off all coarse dirt beforehand, etc. I wipe the water off with a micro iber cloth that claims to be scratchless.
So after those 2 washes, my new paint job is swirled bad. I've begun to think that swirls with a dark color aren't preventable. Other than using a different brand of wash mit, I don't see how I could have prevented this. Even if my wash mit was sub-par, it's hard to believe that 2 washes could impart all those micro-scratches.
Looks like I'll be doing some buffing in the future.
