I was looking for a cleaner grille look on my '08 GT, and lose the fog lights, so I ordered a plain grille with the center emblem from Tasca Ford on eBay. Before I ordered it I questioned the guy at Tasca with my car info & VIN, and he replied that "there shouldn't be a problem".

For those who didn't know, I can now tell you first hand that the plain grille (part #6R3Z-8200AA) must strictly be for the V6. The bottom tabs don't line up on the bottom and it is is about a 1/4-1/2 inch narrower side to side. Ya think Ford would have made this part interchangeable for '05 to '08 Mustang?

If Tasca doesn't take this back, looks like I'll be unloading it cheap.

CDC makes a nice black billet grille for the GT that's a replacement, so I won't have to go for a bumper\grille combo, like Roush or one of the others out there.

ya, the gt front bumper and grill cant be swapped in for either the v6 bumper or grill you have to use both for it to work.

My mistake was not checking with the forum, especially when I didn't see others trying this grille route. A forum like this one is invaluable. Some auto dealer parts staff 'sometimes' do not have a clue but think they do... just my experience.

You have to a bullet grill from ford,or a aftermarket from cervni's

Thanks for the grille sources. Good news, looks like Tasca Ford will be taking back the grille that won't fit & issue a full refund. As soon as that is finalized I'll go for another.
