I suspect that part of my rattle solution is now allowing air to pass under some of the slats due to the addition of weather stripping across only a portion of some of the slats. I ran out of the black weatherstripping so I've yet to determine if that was the cause of the howling.

To the OP, I suspect the ticking or rattle may be from the 90 degree angle supports that connect the louvers offcenter of the middle. Try applying a small piece (probably not more than 1/4-3/8" long) right at the bend where it connects to the louver. One other thing I did was to attach some thin rubber along the edges of the louver that contact the mounting brackets to eliminate metal-to-metal contact.

I have some rattle with my roush louvers at about 75mph...so now I never go over 75 anymore ....but anyways...it gets kind of annoying so on a recent long trip to Long Island I took them off. Maybe some clear caulk on the inside where on the corners would help out....hmmmmm

Mine rattle sometimes. I think it is in relation to wind direction and speed. They dont always do it. I was thinking about taking them off, turning them upside down andapplying a tiny bead of clear silicone on each brace where it contacts the window. Let it dry real good and I think it will act like a tiny rubber buffer. Thats the plan anyway.

on my astra hammonds, it was just the ticking, which i fixed by putting some one sided foam tape on the inside of the upper passenger side bracket

It's not the ticking. I fixed that with weatherstripping right after I got the louvers. About 2 years ago.
