Major paint issue on a NEW car??
#21
IMO
I think everyones immediate response is they would love to have a newer year or a special edition package stang. I know it sounds good to me. If I didnt have to pay for it that is. But the reality is...?
1. consider your budget - do you really want to put in more $$ by trading in? thats what it really comes down to is your budget and your taste.
2. the 2009 is subject to ALL of the same TSBs and problems as your 2008, same goes for the booze bros ride as well. they are still updating TSBs to start including the 2009s Nothing is diff with the 2009 grabber orange one I dont think unless you'd just rather have the grabber orange.
3. haste makes waste - incentives will probably only get better. the current 3k promo may end at the end of march but if it does it will probably be because a better incentive will come next - I speak from experience on this. I bought my 2007 GT in Jan and it sat in the garage unused for over 2 months due to the winter weather. I bought in Jan because the incentive at the time ran out the end of Jan. Then in Feb it was extended. Then in Mar it was way better. Are you aware of the poor auto industry sales lately? How all car mfrs sales are down 40% or more? Now this year I bet incentives will only get better as time goes on especially when they want only 2010s on their lots that are coming in now.
4. If your budget allows it and you want it then the booze brothers sounds like a nice unique ride. I think its resale will drop much more than a stock GT once you leave the lot with it though. Depending on how well thought out the package is it may have even more issues down the road than your current GT
I say wait and see what the result of the decision on your re-paint issue is. Meanwhile, assess your fininancial situation in a realistic way to see if you truly want to trade up if the chance arises.
