Default Need help with paint issue

Hey guys Ive had a 06 v6 Tungsten grey for a little over a year now, I don't remember when i noticed it, maybe about 6 months ago, but the paint on my hood, drivers side fender and drivers side door feels rough compared to the paint on the rest of the car. You can't tell just by looking at it, it looks good and shines up nice like the rest of the car but the it feels very rough to the touch. The rest of the car is smooth. Has anyone else come across this? Is there something i should do to avoid paint problems in the future? There is no rust anywhere on the car. Any help, greatly appreciated

cant help much, but I have an 06 Tungsten GT and the hood is smooth as glass. Garage kept. Are you sure its only the hood? not the roof or deck lid too? Could it be tree sap that fell on your car or fallout from a industrial complex near by? You might want to try using a claybar kit to remove the roughness, but if we are talking "very rough to the touch" it might be something more serious.

Thanks guys, used a Turtle Wax clay bar kit ($17.99) and it worked great, most of the car is now smooth as glass, I'll have to give it another once over to get it back to perfect. If you put "claybar" in the search engine on YouTube you will find video of cars with rough sounding paint, after you claybar them they are smooth. Anyway, thanks again!

If you put your hand in a plastic sandwich bag and rub the paint you should be able to feel any rough spots to know if it still needs work.
