I was at the dealer the last couple days ordering parts and picking up a part. First time I have been up and close to the new mustang. The designers at Fords must be on crack. The 05 model was a home run. The GT500 was a grand slam. The thing is a Mustang II.

 

Wow!! I wouldnt call it that bad!!! But you are correct, the o5-09, were on point, something is just off with the 10. But, the 10 gt500 is pretty nice, cant wait to see the gt500 supersnake, and or another model, ie boss, mach 1 something like that. I think a mach 1 might look pretty bad *** with this new style. But as for a reg old model, miiissssssssssssss with the 10. At a dealership near me they had a new v6 10, next to an 08 gt500kr. Now thats just mean

 

The 05 was the cross between the 65 and the 69 to get the 49 year olds (me) to get back in the game. ( I had a 66 mustang in white). So if you want me ( the 49 year old) to buy the 10 mustang, you would think the design would be pushed closer to the 65 or the 69. IMO, Ford, being deathly afraid of the new camaro, or being on crack, decided we need to go bold with the styling. I think they must have been on crack. (FWIW, I think GM was on crack when they designed the new camaro). Side note, the new camaro push 300 horses out of a V6. At least the motor guys at GM are on the ball.

 

I am very disappointed in the '10 model. They over did it. A bit more rear-end styling on the S197 would have been nice, nothing else should have been touched too much, if at all. They tried too hard. I've said it once and I'll say it again; I'd sure hate to be a S197 GT500 owner because now they simply own a "2010 V6." Most people who dont know the difference wont see anything but a cool hood on the GT500 and a dual exhaust.

Most people dont know the differences between different models of cars... Heck I'm in the most basic model V6 they make and I get people asking me all the time if it's a GT. I dont have Fogs, Bullitt rims, duals, or anything.


I can see a lot of young rich kids getting this 2010 Mustang... it doesn't seem like they designed it for the average middle-class working person, instead it looks like it was designed for some kids.
