Ford Racing M-2301-5M Fuel Door
Hello All!
I wanted to know from anyone that has purchased the Ford Racing Fuel Door part number M-2301-5M if there are any Ford stampings on the part that "prove" it is an official ford part...or perhaps the part number is stamped on it? Like most official ford parts, they all seem to have the ford oval stamped and/or the ford part number.
I recently ordered a fuel door and paid the extra amount for it because I wanted the "FORD" part. There are others that seem the same but cost less...but whatever, I wanted the official part from Ford.
Anyway, what I received came in a "ford box" with the Ford Racing sticker, but nowhere on the part is there a ford oval or part number stamp.
In fact, the instructions that came with it say "AMP Research" Fuel Door.
So, I am kinda upset. If someone can post a pic of the inner fuel door showing a part number or ford oval stamped on the door I would really appreciate it. I need proof that what I have is either "just the way Ford made them" or "not what I paid for"...Thanks!!!

Usually, there will be a 'FoMoCo' or part number stamped on the part. HOWEVER, Ford Racing has been known to rebox aftermarket parts. This is done on some of the aftermarket parts only, but does include many of the exterior items. For example, the front spoiler sold by Ford Racing is actually made by CDC. The FRPP window louvers are made by Roush.
Regarding your fuel door- Amp Research does make really nice fuel doors. They're even made in the USA! It would not surprise me if Ford Racing is reboxing the Amp Research fuel doors.

I just checked mine and it only has a Pat. Pending number on the back side of the door, besides that it did come in a Ford racing box. There are so many nice gas doors out there to choose from for a lot less money, check American Muscle for about half the money.

Thanks guys!
The vendor got back to me and basically said the same thing.
I guess I am old school and expected a part sold by Ford to be made by Ford.
But, anyway...it is a nice fuel door and I am happy with it.
Thanks again for the information!!!
