Default Scraped a wheel...options?

I was an idiot and ran up on a curb trying to force myself into the right turn lane. Left a huge 5-foot scratch deep into the paint on the lower rocker panel. Getting that fixed tomorrow for $75.

I thought my wheels made it through the incident OK, but I was wrong. Rear passenger side wheel is scraped right at the lip where the tire and the wheel meet. The scrape covers 1/3-1/2 of the circumference of the wheel and is 2-3mm wide. I will say that after looking at the area for more than a few minutes, I still did not even notice it until the light was right.

Is this something a body shop could smooth out? Am I stuck with damage until I can get a new wheel? It's nothing urgent, I just am not aware of my options here.

Thanks.

there are places out there that specialize in fixing damaged/curbed wheels...I would call around to the custom wheel shops in your area and see if they can recommend someone....worst case, you might end having to buy a new one

good luck!

Hey I looked around before and found a place but never went they sand your wheel and polish it, looks diff than the rest of your wheels though. I can't remember where it was but it's in CA so probably won't help you.

Ok, not sure what website I was told to use, but it is either www.fixrim.com or www.rimfix.com? I looked at both, they both specialize in wheel repairs, I think it is the first name. Good Luck.

I don't know if this guy can do it but it can't hurt to call and find out...

He's the brother of Matt from Performance Evolution where I take my car. Call him and see if he can clean the wheel up and chrome it. That's the best local idea I can think of for you Andrew.
