Default Tie down pins on Fiberglass hood?

I just bought a set of Ford Racing tie down pins from buyfordracing because they were cheap. I was planning on installing them this weekend because my hood has a wicked case of hood shake one I get much over 100. I have a TruFiber Venom hood, and since it's fiberglass, I am starting to wonder if I can drill through it without sending a crack running down it. Does anybody have any experience or words of advice for tie down pins in fiberglass hoods?

the body shop that did all the work on my car installed my hood pins, but I'd suspect you're better off starting with a small drill and working your way up to the appropriate size you want the hole. I do know that once they got the hole in the hood to the appropriate size, they used a file on a dremel to angle and smooth things out

here's my hood pins installed in a trufiber venom hood...

Thanks for those pictures, that really helped with placement ideas. The pins haven't come in yet (ordered Monday) so I'll have to postpone install until next weekend. I think I'm just going to go low torque and light pressure on the drill and let it just eat through the hood for me.

start as small as possible and take ur time...start to big and it could just grab ahold of it and crack it.

Another question I have is do I need any special drill bits for a fiberglass hood to make the job easier? Are there any recommended drill bits for hood drilling in general?
