Might I suggest just taking the scoop off (as long as it held with just tape) then taking your car to get professionally detailed. My brother has a 2006 Mini Cooper S and he recently took off those factory stripes off and it looked like paint under the stripe was a different color. He took it in for a clay bar/waxing/detailing and it came back looking brand new. Only cost him about $80 with tip and 2 hours of his time.
