I snipped a few inches off my wifes Aspen with no adverse effects. I just smushed the ball back on with pliers and its still on nice and tight.

How do you get the ball off the original antenna? I tried with pliers, but it started to scar it up a bit so I stopped.

I cut my stock antenna in half, glued the ball back on and a little black touch up paint. Now it is about 15" tall works great and looks stock. Save $20-$30 bucks for gas.

One of my friends bought me one a few wks ago when he ordered his. I think he got it from moss muscle and he has had no problems with it. I havent put mine on but am looking forward to not having the huge annoying stock one. Now all I need is hood struts. I think a shorty antenna and hood struts make a HUGE difference on a car even though they are both minor touches
