Default New wheels

Well I only have two right now. A buddy of mine bought these two rims and used them at the track with his drag radials on his 05 GT. sold them to me for 80 for the pair. they are in great shape. Now I need to find two more on a board or buy them online. Let me know if anyone has one or two for sale!

A lot depends on how you drive your car; track? strip? street? all year? mixed? You can check on tirerack or any of the other tire sites for some comparison info (as skewed as it is) plus sizes that would fit those 9" wheels. But staggered 255's up front and possibly 275's, if the rims permit it, would look great.

I'm running Goodyear Eagle F1's A/S which I bought while in Kentucky. I've been very happy with them. But then, just about anything is an improvement over the stock BFG's that came on my Stang. My g/f's Pirelli PZero's on her V6 are acceptable for her DD driving style. Be careful what you choose. Some summer-only tires are hideous in wet weather.

My plans are to keep the stock for the winter and use these during the summer. I do go to the track but i don't see the need for DR's as my car doesn't spin. I was thinking of 295/45/17 all around but I need to see them on some s197's to decide.

I was going to guess 17", just wanted to be sure. It should look great when it's all done.

Typically, the widest tire recommended for a 9" rim APPEARS to be 265's but that will vary slightly from tire model/brand to model/brand. The manufacturer's recommendation may be conservative but in the event of an accident, your insurance company COULD deny you if the accident was tire related. It's up to you.

255's up front is what the GT500 comes with. I went with 275's all around on 9.5" wheels and the car will tramline like crazy on truck rutted roads. I'd do 255's up front if I was to do it over.

Thanks for the info. I will probably do 275 rear and 255 front.
